HERITAGE VOLLEYBALL

MISSION

PRIDE | CHARACTER | EXCELLENCE
Varsity players celebrating

We develop great volleyball players and even better humans

Athletics are a small piece of kids’ overall high school experience but the lessons they learn through sports will have a lasting impression throughout their lives. Heritage Volleyball is dedicated to developing players with a hard work ethic, perseverance, teamwork and communication. We want our athletes to succeed in life with the tools they develop through high school sports.

We are for and with others

Players are often wrapped up in their immediate world; did we win that match, did I score. While it is important to self reflect, we want to expand players’ perspective; was I a good teammate today, am I positively contributing to the world around me. Heritage volleyball is committed to an attitude of others-centeredness and team cohesion.

We strive and train for excellence on the court

The expectation of players and coaches in the Heritage Volleyball program is excellence. We will train excellence in fundamentals, game strategy and court IQ. We aim to develop well-rounded players who can step into a variety of roles on the court.

Kenzie Cunningham

Kenzie Cunningham

Head Junior Varsity Coach

About Kenzie

Kenzie Cunningham will be returning for her 8th season of Heritage volleyball! Volleyball has been a huge part of her life for as long as she can remember and getting the chance to continue with the Heritage program and all of these incredible young ladies means the world. Also a Colorado native, born and raised in Littleton, Kenzie began playing when she was 9 years old and went on to play for Heritage herself throughout high school. After graduating she also gave Nebraska a shot enrolling at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln (Go Big Red). She didn’t last quite as long as Hannah without all the fabulous Colorado seasons and returned to attend Colorado State University, followed by University of Denver for her Master of Social Work. She now works with adolescents both on and off the court.

Kenzie is entering her 11th year of coaching. She started coaching in high school with a 5th grade recreation volleyball team in Highlands Ranch in order to get her youngest sister on the court for the first time. During her time at University of Denver she began her journey with Heritage volleyball with 8th grade Gold Crown. After the season and that crazy group of girls she was hooked. Kenzie is looking forward to following these crazy groups of girls as they advance in their high school and collegiate volleyball careers!

Kristen Haufschild

Kristen Haufschild

Head Freshman Coach

About Kristen

Kristen’s love for game began in seventh grade when she chose volleyball over basketball due to volleyball requiring less running! Little did she know that would be the beginning of a love for the game and provide friendships and bonds that have lasted decades.

She continued playing volleyball throughout high school as a setter at Air Academy High School in Colorado Springs. Kristen attended Colorado State University and majored in Public Accounting with a minor in French. After a year of living in Paris after graduation, she started working for KPMG LLP in Denver where she met and married Wade.

Twenty four years later, they live just up the path from the Heritage tennis courts and have a daughter in college (former HHS vball player) and two boys, one a junior at HHS and an incoming 2024 HHS Eagle. All play volleyball.

Her coaching started in the local Highlands Ranch recreation league with her daughter in elementary school, coached middle school boys and girls at Ben Franklin Academy, and has been the Freshman coach at HHS since 2022. Kristen is passionate about fundamental volleyball, player development on and off the court, and is excited to work with the freshman.
